pywb supports the Memento Protocol as specified in RFC 7089 and provides API endpointsfor Memento TimeMaps and TimeGates per collection.
HTTP Framework for Time-Based Access to Resource States -- Memento (RFC )
The service provides API access to the Wayback Machine Internet archive of over 150 billion web pages saved starting in 1996. The Memento protocol allows data-level access to the archive to allow retrieval of website content based on date-time specifications. API methods include TimeGate, which provides access to a site at points in time specified in its own page headers. The Memento API provides access as of a date specified in the request. The TimeMap API provides a download of archived content.

If you want to test a specific datetime, then you can change the request date (but make sure it is in the right format!). You can change the default timegate in order to test a general timegate for a resource on the web. If you turn off Follow Links, then the system will only test the resource in the URI box, and not try to follow through the original/timegate/memento chain.
