Archive Content
The Internet Archive is the largest public web archive. It contains billions of web pages that were archived from 1996 to a few months ago, and is accessible via the Wayback Machine.
Memento Protocol Information
The Internet Archive is accessible via the Memento "Time Travel for the Web" protocol. Hence, it supports datetime negotiation to access a version of a web resource as it existed at a specific moment in time. Check out the brief introduction to Memento if you are not familiar with it.
Presuming the Original Resource (current version) is http://www.w3.org/TR/webarch/
,
then the resources that are relevant for the Memento protocol are:
- TimeGate:
http://web.archive.org/web/http://www.w3.org/TR/webarch/
- Memento:
http://web.archive.org/web/20021203004021/http://www.w3.org/TR/webarch/
; etc. - TimeMap:

Integration with the Original Dataset
The original dataset is the web at large. In responses to HTTP requests,
Web resources typically don't provide a
Link header with a "timegate
" link to point at
their TimeGate at the Internet Archive.
